Must-watch Monday

Easily one of the most influential riders in BMX, Taj Mihelich needs no introduction.

Taj left everything on the table in a Pro career that spanned from 1994 to 2009.

A severe back injury cut his Pro career short but his influence and legacy continues.

Ride BMX caught up with Taj to discuss his time as a pro rider and the transition he made to his life after riding which…surprise, suprise…still has a heavy bicycling element.

Do yourself a favor and check out this video.

First look: 2018 WTP Audio

Ever since we heard We The People (WTP) had jumped on the 22″ wagon, we were anxious to see what they had up their sleeve.

They teased us with pictures of their new 22″ tires and teased us with the news that a full-blown complete was on the way.

Well, this week, we got more “details” on the new 22″ complete from WTP.

The details being it that it passed the “shred test” by WTP pro, Felix Prangenberg.

WTP filmed him riding the 22″ Audio complete and if I can quote their Insta page,

We gave [him the bike] to ride for the day and man did he put this thing to   work.

Did he ever…

This bike definitely has chops.

According to WTP, the complete will be hitting shops this August.

I would suggest bugging your WTP dealer now.

I suspect these are going to be pretty popular.

More 22″ stuff from Stolen & WTP on the way

BMX Union posted an article earlier this week on the rise of the 22″ BMX bike.

It covered most of the backstory of this niche of BMX, including some of the more recent developments we’ve covered as of late on this site, including the new 22″ We The People (WTP) tires and the new 22″ Deluxe frame sets.

The article also served to prompt a couple of major name companies to weigh in with announcements of their own in regard to some of their pending 22″ offerings.

We The People announced they will be introducing a mid-range complete 22″ bike (!), along with an aftermarket frame, forks, rims, tires and a complete wheel set. Salt (the WTP sub-brand) will also be offering an affordable pricepoint 22″ wheelset.

If you follow the Big and Tall BMX insta page, you are already partially in the know about the next announcement.

Stolen is already shipping 22″ wheelsets and rims out.

What’s new, however, is the news that Stolen Bikes (in collaboration with Fiction) will be offering the following 22″ items in June:

  • Stolen “Spade Pro” 22-inch frame
  • Stolen Spade complete bike
  • Fiction Troop Tire in 22 x 2.30 size

Yowza!

We definitely won’t be hurting for choice on the 22″ front this year.

Great news all around.
